Earth is a canvas
a painted rare beauty
wonder and awe
inspired at a glance
the Artist ordained
all colors be bright!
Displayed for all to see.
My upturned eyes blink, wink,
Bright white wisps race above
floating above my bright eyes.
Butterflies dance between flowers
flirt among yellow daisies
birds soar high above
dancing among the trees
like many colored jewels.
The valleys stretches before me
bright painted canvas. Many colored.
My roaming eyes see
Lazy willows swaying, drooping
their branches into streams
The Artist painted them so.
Mountains tall he made,
stern majesty. Mist shrouded.
Beauty beyond compare
Blue-green ocean he painted also
White capped the powerful ocean
as far as the eye can see.
The earth is a canvas
a painted rare beauty
Wonderful, majestic, canvas.

DONE!! :faint: took me long enough to write it... but write it I did first competition I join too...

um.. I would like to have a years subscription...heh that would be very nice. or the in-depth critique and gallery overview by `Jon-Law.

Thanks... Jorge loved the poem from the get go and so did my mother (who is an english teacher..so I had critique from the start too :lol: ) anyhow... I'm glad I finished it I've never been in a lit comp before .... well if you count Salli's Armchair Traveler then I have...but that one was easyer than this.

Well good luck! I envy your ready editors, my mom is a grade 1 teacher which means my poetry is sort of outside of her area of expertise lol :P

Mom writes poetry... and she has a knack for writing stories and telling good stories... I come from a family of teachers mostly English and History teacher :)
